Terms of sale

Last updated 21 October 2026

These terms apply to purchases from DAPOTTERY Studio: artworks, lessons and courses, and commissions. If you buy as a consumer, the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005, “Codice del Consumo”) applies and nothing here limits your statutory rights.

1. Seller

DAPOTTERY Studio, a sole-trader business of Daniel Christopher Pontoriero, Via Privata Giovanni Ventura 6, 20134 Milano (MI), Italy. P.IVA [P.IVA — TO FILL]. Email: info@dapotterystudio.com. Phone: +39 351 910 5942.

2. The works

Every artwork is made by hand and is one of a kind. Photos, dimensions and descriptions are as accurate as we can make them; glaze, colour and surface can look slightly different with light and screen, and each listing shows the actual piece you will receive. Unless a listing explicitly says food-safe, works are decorative and not meant for food or drink.

3. How to buy

  1. There is no online cart. To reserve a work or book a lesson, email the studio from the work's page or write to info@dapotterystudio.com.
  2. The studio replies to confirm availability, the price, and shipping or pickup, with the shipping cost stated before you pay.
  3. If you wish to go ahead, the studio sends you a private Stripe payment link for that work. The work is held for you for [hold period, e.g. 72 hours — TO FILL]; if it is not paid in that time it is released.
  4. The contract is formed when your payment succeeds and the studio confirms it by email.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are in euro (€). [VAT regime wording from commercialista — TO FILL] Payment is taken by Stripe (cards and the wallets shown on its page); we never see your full card details. We ship only within Italy and Europe (see Shipping, returns & care); import duties or taxes charged by a destination outside the EU are paid by the recipient and are not included in the price.

5. Delivery

Works ship within [dispatch time, working days — TO FILL] of payment to [countries, e.g. Italy and EU / Europe — TO FILL] by [carrier — TO FILL], insured and tracked. You can also collect in person from the studio in Lambrate, Milan, by appointment. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when you or someone you name takes physical possession of the work (Codice del Consumo, art. 63). If a work arrives damaged, see Shipping, returns & care.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

Artworks: you can withdraw within 14 days of receiving the work, without giving a reason. Send a clear statement to info@dapotterystudio.com (you can use the form below) and send the work back within 14 days, carefully packed and insured; you pay the direct cost of returning it. We refund what you paid, including the standard delivery cost, within 14 days of your withdrawal, and may wait until the work is back or you show proof of shipping. You are responsible for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to inspect the work.

No right of withdrawal (Codice del Consumo, art. 59): commissions and any work made to your specifications or clearly personalised (letter c), and lessons, workshops or courses booked for a specific date or period (letter n).

Model withdrawal form — To: DAPOTTERY Studio, Via Privata Giovanni Ventura 6, 20134 Milano, Italy, info@dapotterystudio.com. I give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the sale of the following work: ______. Ordered on / received on: ______. Name: ______. Address: ______. Date: ______.

7. Legal guarantee of conformity

Consumers have the legal guarantee for goods that do not match the contract (Codice del Consumo, arts. 128 ff.): 2 years from delivery. A defect that appears within 1 year of delivery is presumed to have existed at delivery, and you have 26 months from delivery to act. Tell us at info@dapotterystudio.com and we will offer repair, replacement where possible (usually not, since each work is unique), a price reduction or a refund, as the law provides. Variations inherent to handmade ceramics and visible in the photos (crazing that is part of a glaze, small pinholes, kiln marks, glaze pooling) are not defects.

8. Lessons, workshops and courses

A booking is confirmed once paid. Tell us at least [cancellation window, e.g. 48 hours — TO FILL] before a session and we will move it; later cancellations and no-shows cannot be refunded or moved. If we cancel, you choose a new date or a full refund. Students under 18 must be booked by a parent or guardian. Please follow the studio's safety instructions around tools, the kiln area and clay dust.

9. Commissions

A commission starts with a written quote covering the work, price, timeline and a deposit of [commission deposit % — TO FILL]. Work starts when the deposit is paid. Because the work is made to your specifications, the deposit is non-refundable once work has started. Handmade work varies; the quote says what is fixed and what is the artist's interpretation.

10. Copyright

Buying a work does not transfer copyright. You may photograph and share your work, crediting DAPOTTERY Studio / Daniel Pontoriero. Commercial reproduction of its design needs our written permission.

11. Complaints and disputes

Write to info@dapotterystudio.com and we will reply within [days, e.g. 7 — TO FILL]. These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the court where you live has jurisdiction and you keep the mandatory protections of your country of residence.
